Another narrative of Europe
The project was created to shine a light on a major challenge unfolding at Europe’s borders and to promote a different point of view: an idea of Europe that does not give in to fear, rejects xenophobia and opposes narratives that exploit uncertainty for political gain.
At the heart of A4EUS is the conviction that European solidarity is a universal value for individuals, communities and societies. Europe was born from solidarity and the desire for peace; those values have helped sustain cooperation and prosperity across the continent.
The project also examined European migration policies through the experiences of local communities and organisations. Activities created spaces for citizens to compare perspectives, understand different national contexts and discuss how democratic participation, cultural heritage and intercultural dialogue can contribute to more inclusive societies.
What the network aimed to achieve
- Promote a positive, evidence-based narrative on migration and integration.
- Strengthen solidarity, democratic participation and a shared European identity.
- Encourage intercultural dialogue and cooperation among local communities.
- Challenge xenophobia, fear-based rhetoric and Eurosceptic narratives.
- Exchange local experiences and practices across countries.
